Nutrients such as carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus are stored, transformed and cycled through various soil processes. Managing the amount (rate), source (organic and inorganic), placement (application method) and timing (including number of applications) of plant nutrients and soil amendments can influence nutrient cycling and availability.
